ORANGE IN BOLOGNA

DRESS // BAG // SUNNIES // FLIP FLOPS

I definitely wanted to eat our way around Italy, so when we started planning our trip, I knew I wanted to go to Bologna. I mean that's where bolonagse sauce originated. If you have been to Italy you will know that restaurants close in the middle of the day, so of course the one that I wanted to go to was closed. So that was pretty disappointing to start off our day there. I don't know if it was just the day or what, but Bologna was a BUSY city. Cars and motorcycles everywhere going very fast. It was the hardest city for us to find a place to park. We walked around for a bit, but were pretty crabby by the time we found a parking spot and got settled. Plus it was a hot day and the Fountain of Neptune was closed for restoration. We did however have some spaghetti bolonagse (in a German restaurant) and it was delicious, so I don't want to steer you away from the city.

GREVE AND SIENA

JUMPSUIT {almost exact} // BAG // SCARF // SUNNIES // HAT {similar} // FLIP FLOPS

If there is one thing my husband and I learned from our trip, it is that we are not big city people. We much preferred the smaller towns and the great thing about Italy is that even the smallest towns have an incredible amount of charm. This day we spent most of our time in Greve (Chianti). As soon as we pulled up to it, we knew it would be a favorite. Much slower paced and quieter. After we finished our coffee and biscotti, we took a short hike up to explore Montefioralle. It was a small town that was almost like a maze. Every turn lead you somewhere else. There were no shops, but it was just fun to walk through. It felt like you were in a story book. After we walked around we had lunch at La Castellana. I highly recommend this restaurant!! Especially if you like truffle--they specialize in it.  It was so delicious. Definitely one of our favorite meals on the trip. There were other wineries in the area that you could visit as well, but we just stuck to the one.
After our bellies were full, we headed off to Siena. Siena is definitely larger, but it still maintained a slower pace. We walked around and sat at the Piazza del Campo and relaxed. It was one of my favorite days.

HOT SPRINGS

 HAT {similar}  // BAG // SUNNIES // SWIMSUIT {similar} // FLIP FLOPS

I really wanted to go to the hot springs in Saturnia, but it turned out that it was about a three hour drive from where we were staying but we were able to find one closer. I have never been to a hot springs before so I was a little unfamiliar with the smells and mush. If you have never been either you wont know what I'm talking about so let me explain. Hot springs smell like sulfur so there is a definite egg smell in the air. Secondly, as soon as your feet touch the bottom of the pool you will feel something mushy around your toes. That was really hard for me to get used to because it reminded me of a pool that hasn't been vacuumed. Im assuming it is normal for them to have that film on the bottom, but I figured it was good for you or something.
The hot springs were at the top of a hill so the views were amazing. You could see for miles.

Thanks for reading!

VENICE

DRESS{backordered :(} // BAG // FLIP FLOPS // SUNNIES
Ahh, Venice. I heard that you would either love it or hate it, and for me...I loved it. There is really nothing like it. We spent the whole day there and I wish we could have stayed longer. We really had no plans, except to make our way to San Marco. Venice a huge maze with bridges that take you from one side to the other. You will get lost but think of it more as an adventure. It's fun not knowing what the next corner holds. Be sure to bring some bread or crackers with your so you can feed the pigeons when to do get to San Marco. They are so trusting that they eat out of your hands and will land on your arm. Or head in some circumstances. Also, be sure to have some change on you. If you need to use the bathroom there is a chance you will have to pay to do so. If you have time, try and go to Burano. We ran out of time, but it is a fun and colorful city by Venice that you can get to by water taxi.

This dress has been so highly asked about. Even in Venice I got numerous compliments on it. It is out of stock right now, but it looks like they are going to re-stock it, so make sure you sign up for a notification when it does become available.
If you have any other questions about Venice please ask in the comments below!

ORANGE PUMPS

SHOES (similar, many colors) // JEANS ($22!) // TOP ($12! other colors available too)  SUNNIES (cheaper)

^^Click the links above to shop this post ^^

This a pretty simple outfit, so I kicked it up a notch with some orange shoes. I really like adding a pop color to a black and white outfit. These shoes were from last year but I linked a very similar pair above and in the widget below. The jeans and the top are so inexpensive and will be so versatile in other looks. A good pair of jeans is hard to find and these are only $22. They are on sale so I would check them out quick if you are interested. They come in a few other colors as well. What is your favorite pop color to add to a black and white outfit?

Sadly my camera was dying that day, so I only got these few shots...
